Writing Ugly React.js and GraphQL

At the moment, I'm going through Reed Barger's course Serverless React with AWS Amplify - The Complete Guide.

I'm learning a lot about serverless JavaScript/React development with AWS.

But wow, does it get ugly. Code duplication, wrangling with the AWS back end, fetching data several times, etc.

I don't have a lot of confidence in AWS Amplify. It makes it relatively easy to create a back-end API with GraphQL. But the documentation is lacking, the AWS web console confusing, and the pricing (after the free trial months) steep.

I'm also not sure how easy it is to handle maintenance.

It's still good to get a look at AWS and get a sense of its benefits and disadvantages.
